Keeping Kids Safe
Keeping Kids Safe has become one of the toughest challenges confronting parents today, particularly when it comes to keeping kids safe online. The previous Coalition Government worked hard to address the scourge of child safety, abuse and sexual exploitation. In Opposition, my colleagues, my local team, and I have not stopped in the fight for practical solutions and to hold porn, gambling and organised crime groups to account.
Keeping Kids Safe has become one of the toughest challenges confronting parents today, particularly when it comes to keeping kids safe online. The previous Coalition Government worked hard to address the scourge of child safety, abuse and sexual exploitation. These initiatives included:
- Established the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation
- Established the eSafety Commissioner
- Established the National Office for Child Safety
- Undertook Inquiry into Age Verification for Online Wagering and Pornography
- Designed and Implemented the inaugural National Strategy to Prevent & Respond to Child Sexual Abuse
- Cancelled Paedophiles’ Passports and Blocked Their Travel
- Equipped the Australian Federal Police in Operation Arkstone and Others
- Invested $3.4m into the Daniel Morcombe Foundation for Online Exploitation Prevention Programs
In Opposition, my colleagues, my local team, and I have not stopped in the fight for practical solutions and to hold porn, gambling and organised crime groups to account. We’ve fought for and will implement policies including:
- Doubling the Size of the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation
- Industrialising Law Enforcement Strike Capabilities to Counter Child Sex Offenders and Predators
- Implementing a $6.7m Trial of Age Verification and Assurance Technology for Online Porn, Wagering and Alcohol Sales
- Ban Sports Bet Advertising Before, During and After Sporting Broadcasts
- Establish a Royal Commission into Child Sexual Abuse in Indigenous Communities to seek justice and protect kids
- Outlaw Criminal Post-Boasting to stem the criminal trajectory of young thugs

Keeping Kids Safe Survey
I’ve spent 8 years fighting to protect our kids online, and we’ve seen some improvement thanks to measures like the eSafety Commissioner, the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation, and a suite of reforms aimed to reducing gambling harm, increasing big tech accountability, and supporting law enforcement.
But there is MUCH more work to do – and I want to hear from YOU about where we can do better.
