Sunshine Coast MP Andrew Wallace will head off again on his bicycle this month, as he embarks on his sixth annual listening tour around the Fisher electorate.
This year’s Tour de Fisher, from August 21-25, includes 20 listening posts in five days.
“My legs are stretched, the tires are pumped and I am primed and ready. Nothing energises me more than getting to know all the characters who make up Fisher’s unique community,” Mr Wallace said.
“Tour de Fisher has become an absolute highlight of my year, and these Listening Posts have been a great way to meet with locals, and enjoy the best of our hinterland and coastline.”
“After a challenging year for so many, I look forward to the chance to celebrate our community wins, listen to locals’ concerns, and hear from those people who make the Sunshine Coast one of the most loved places on the planet.” Mr Wallace added.
Mr Wallace said that his Listening Posts were a great opportunity for locals to have their say by chatting one-on-one, and signing his petitions, including the one that tells Labor to get on board the Sunshine Coast Rail project.
“As your voice in Canberra, I want to hear about the issues that are important to you and what will make the biggest difference for you, your family and your business,” Mr Wallace said.
The Tour de Fisher once again, starts at Lions Park, Ormonde Tce in Kings Beach on Monday, 21 August at 9:00am and concludes with a morning tea at Bokarina Beach playground on Friday, 25 August at 9:45am, with 20 stops in between.
