Fighting For Maleny Men’s Shed
1 in 4 Australian men experience a diagnosed mental health disorder in their lifetime. Suicide remains the number one cause of death for men under the age of 50 – with men three times more likely to take their own lives than women. Mental health is in crisis for Australian men.
Community groups like Men’s Sheds play a crucial role in community service, social connection, and recreational outlets for men – from their teenage years and long into retirement. Unfortunately, while demand grows with our local population, callous cuts and the cost-of-living crisis are holding these groups back from reaching their potential.
That’s why I’m fighting for our fair share of community funding – to build a better future for Fisher.
And that’s why I’m fighting to upgrade the Maleny Men’s Shed, which is such an important hub for the Maleny community: to combat loneliness, get Fisher active, and to build a better future for Maleny.
Join me in calling on the Federal Government to back the project and upgrade the Maleny Men’s Shed.
