Federal Member for Fisher Andrew Wallace MP is inviting local business owners, employers and investors to attend a Small Business Federal Budget Forum to better understand the implications of the 2026 Federal Budget and the broader economic outlook.
The forum, will be held at Meridan Community Church at 5:45pm for a 6:00pm start on Tuesday 16 June. It will feature Warren Hogan, Chief Economic Advisor at Judo Bank, alongside local business leaders like Rebecca Hurford, Principal of Infocus Caloundra.
Mr Wallace said the event had been organised in response to feedback from local businesses concerned about the direction of the economy and the impact of Budget measures on investment, growth and business confidence.
“Over recent weeks, I’ve spoken with many local business owners who are concerned about what this Budget means for their business, their employees, their future plans and their families,” Mr Wallace said.
“While much of the discussion around the Budget has focused on households, many of the decisions made in Canberra will have significant consequences for small businesses, which remain the backbone of our local economy.”
Mr Wallace said the forum would provide practical insights into the Budget, inflation, interest rates, productivity, business confidence and the broader economic outlook.
“Small businesses are facing massive increased pressure from rising costs, red tape, workforce challenges and ongoing economic uncertainty.”
“This forum will give local business owners the opportunity to hear directly from one of Australia’s leading economists, ask questions and gain a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
Warren Hogan is one of Australia’s most respected economic commentators and regularly provides analysis on economic growth, inflation, interest rates, productivity and business conditions.
Following the presentation by Mr Wallace and Mr Hogan, attendees will hear from local financial planner Rebecca Hurford during a panel discussion and audience Q&A.
Mr Wallace thanked Judo Bank, the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce, Kawana Chamber of Commerce, Maleny Commerce and the Glasshouse Country Chamber of Commerce for supporting the event.
