GLOBAL DISABILITY EMPLOYMENT LEADER CHOOSES SUNSHINE COAST FOR AUSTRALIAN EXPANSION

MEDIA RELEASE 9 March 2026

Federal Member for Fisher, Andrew Wallace MP, has welcomed the announcement that global social enterprise Fedcap has entered the Australian market through the acquisition of Sunshine Coast-based disability support provider The Community Collective QLD (TCCQ).

The move will see one of the world’s leading organisations focused on economic mobility and disability employment establish its Australian presence right here on the Sunshine Coast.

Mr Wallace said the announcement was a major vote of confidence in the region’s business community and its leadership in supporting people with disability into meaningful employment.

“This is fantastic news for Fisher to see a global organisation like Fedcap choose a Sunshine Coast-based provider as its entry point into Australia. This is a powerful endorsement of the incredible work being done right here in our community.” Mr Wallace said.

“The Community Collective QLD based in Sippy Downs, has built an outstanding reputation for empowering people with disabilities to develop skills, gain independence and secure meaningful employment. Their success story is exactly the kind of innovation and leadership we are proud to support.”

The Community Collective QLD is a registered NDIS provider delivering a range of services including employment support, allied health services, school-leaver employment programs and community participation initiatives.

Since its establishment, the organisation has supported more than 1,000 individuals and helped place more than 400 people into employment.

Mr Wallace added the partnership with Fedcap would open the door to global expertise and expanded opportunities for local participants.

“This partnership brings international experience and resources to the Sunshine Coast while keeping the heart of the organisation firmly rooted in our local community,” Mr Wallace said.

Co-Director of The Community Collective QLD, Sarah McIntosh, said joining the global Fedcap network would allow the organisation to expand its impact while continuing to serve the Sunshine Coast community.

“We’re incredibly proud that a Sunshine Coast organisation has become the gateway for Fedcap’s expansion into Australia,” Ms McIntosh said.

“For more than seven years our focus has been on helping people with disabilities build confidence, independence and pathways into employment. Partnering with Fedcap allows us to bring global best practice and additional opportunities to the people and families we support here in Queensland.”

Mr Wallace finished by saying the announcement reinforced the Sunshine Coast’s reputation as a centre for innovation, community leadership and inclusive employment.

“Our region continues to punch well above its weight when it comes to business innovation and social enterprise,” Mr Wallace said.

“I will always back local organisations that are creating opportunity, supporting people with disabilities and strengthening our community.”

“This is another example of why the Sunshine Coast is such an outstanding place to live, work and invest.”
