Federal Member for Fisher, Andrew Wallace, has been unanimously re-endorsed by the LNP as their candidate
for the seat of Fisher, which he has held since 2016.
Mr Wallace, who served as the 31st Speaker of the House of Representatives after just two terms in Parliament,
said he was honoured to be re-endorsed by the LNP, and remained committed to delivering on his mission “to
make Fisher the place of choice for education, employment, and retirement”.
“I’m honoured that the grassroots members of the LNP have once again put their faith in me,” Mr Wallace said.
“In 2016, I was elected as the Member for Fisher with a pledge that I would do what I’ve done as a builder,
barrister, and small business owner – that is, work hard, take nothing for granted, and stand up to the big end of
town.”
“For eight years, I’ve fought to build better roads and rail, boost mental health services, back small businesses
and local manufacturers, to protect Australians and secure our future. I’ve delivered over $7 billion to that end,”
Mr Wallace continued.
“I’ve stood up for Australians and their interests on the world stage. I’ve worked across the political aisle to shift
the conversation on mental health and eating disorders. And I’ve worked hard to ensure that young Australians
can realise the Australian dream of home ownership.”
“But I’m not done fighting for Fisher – there’s plenty of work still to do,” said Mr Wallace, adding, “We need long-term cost of living relief for families and their businesses. We need more homes, better services and infrastructure, and more support for our hard-working community groups.
“At the national level, I’m still fighting for a National Security Strategy, for a Digger Bill to transform veterans’
education, and comprehensive social media reform to hold big tech to account and keep kids safe online,” Mr
Wallace continued.
After two and a half years of clumsy and careless mismanagement, the Albanese Labor Government is limping
its way to the end of its term. Only the Coalition has a plan to get the country back on track. Only Peter Dutton
has the strong leadership that Australians deserve and demand.
The next Federal Election must be held by May 2025.
