Fighting For a Youth Recreation Centre in Sippy Downs

Did you know that less than a quarter of Australians are getting in the recommended amount of physical activity? This has knock-on effects to their physical, mental, and social health.

At the same time, youth crime is out of control in communities like ours, with very little for young people to do in the real world.

Local community sporting facilities play a vital role in encouraging physical activity, mental wellbeing, and social mobility – and offer young people something meaningful to do.

Unfortunately, with the rising cost of living, mounting red-tape, and careless cuts to funding programs and infrastructure, sporting groups right across Fisher are struggling to meet demand or provide the safe and vibrant spaces we need to foster sporting participation.

That’s why I’m fighting for our fair share of community funding – to build a better future for Fisher.

I’m fighting for a brand new Youth Recreation Centre in Sippy Downs, to give young people in Sippy Downs, Chancellor Park, and Palmview a way to connect and keep active.

Join me in calling on the Federal Government to back the project and build a Youth Recreation Centre in Sippy Downs.
